What a beautiful day in London. Cold but the light was perfect. I'd just got my Olympus cameras serviced so a few photos. I'd gone to the Reading Record Fair yesterday and after watching the Grammys some real Rock and Roll only fifty nine years old.
London, it's cold here but still feels like summer compared to Denmark. Nice to be home.
Photographed the last of the Metallica shows last night . So having a tired Friday... a couple of records from General Norieiga. Rory Gallagher LIVE was one of those records everyone had at my school, I actually prefer Irish Tour '74 . Still I'm going to rediscover it this evening.
Denmark... it's cold and snowing. I seriously miss Hong Kong. Slate grey sky's... I did go out the the War Museum and The National Museum lots of skulls of strangled woman from 1500BC and to think woman are moaning now ?????
A much better James Hetfield played The Royal Arena, I went to shoot the show from above and at the bottom of the stairs were three Danes throwing up by the bar…. nice. It was like the song ONE where you avoid the local land mines.
So some photos of Metallica and Rival Sons and Black Sabbath straight after the last show.
Friday night Metallica in the round in the Royal Arena with a sick James and Kirk. James was so unwell I was amazed he finished the show.
Got up Saturday and flew to London then straight up to Birmingham for the last ever Black Sabbath show. Ozzy was on great form giving it his all. Sad to see them go, a part of my youth gone. A pain to shoot as it was being filmed and there were more tracks for cameras than the railways in Tokyo. Plus all they seemed to do was go back and forth like the Northern Line with no thought in what they were doing. My best photo of the night was Ozzy walking off at the very end. I finished the evening with a photo of Sabbath and Rival Sons together in a packed corridor at the NEC.
It really was the END.
I've been doing the last London Black Sabbath shows at the 02 Arena all last week.
Now in freeeeeeezing Denmark. I've been here a few days for Metallica while they rehearse for their shows at the brand new Royal Arena. Even the toilets are new I was the first too try one out, I suppose that's a first for me. Metallica's first show of the run is tonight then I fly home tomorrow for the very last Sabbath show in Birmingham and back to Denmark for the Viking Hordes on Sunday.
