Hey Ross,

My name is Daniel Wilkins, I'm a photographer from sunny Western Australia.

I'd assume you would get a stack of emails from up and coming photographers claiming that you're one of their idols. So for that I appolise for bothering you.

Every since getting into photography professionally around 10 years ago, I always wanted to shoot bands. Through out all of the magazines I bought, your name seemed to stand out particularly the photographs you've taken of my favourite band Metallica.

For the last 8 years I've strived to break into the local music photography scene, without much luck and with only your work as inspiration to continue nagging the local street presses and music magazines.

Anyway, I've been working for WA's leading music street press for the last year, regularly have shots featured in national music magazines and just last month had my first shots appear in Rolling Stone. Which was a massive buzz! As was seeing my pics from the Big Day Out, when they made it into the Classic Rock magazine.

I just thought I'd drop you a line to say thanks for be a source of inspiration. I hope one day to shoot some of the bands that you've photographed and I could only dream of having the opportunities you've had throughout your amazing career.

Hope all is well. If my life should some day take me to England, I'd love to meet you.

Thanks again, if you have the time I'd love you to check out some of my live shots.
