David Bowie gone today, what a way to start the new year. I watched Lemmy's funeral at home in the early hours of Sunday morning, Lars, Mikey Dee, Dave Grohl, Robert Trujillo, Triple H, Rob Halford were excellent and very heartfelt and funny. The rest was Overkill.
I saw Bowie as a teen on the Ziggy Stardust Tour and Aladdin Sane at Earls Court with a tiny PA and twenty thousand screaming girls, you couldn't hear the band at all. I gave up on Bowie after Station To Station, I last saw him at the Budokan in Tokyo a few years ago with Jimmy Page.
Peter Makowski made me listen under protest (From me) his new album yesterday and I have to say it was beautiful.
Now the light is off…..
Go and find this if you can Bowie at the Boston Music Hall in '72.
