A couple of things truly English...

Def Leppard, this is my cover of the new Classic Rock special issue out very soon...

And Iron Maiden...

Live After Death came out thirty years ago today. That's a long time ago-did I think then I'd be writing this now then 'Nooooo'.

I remember spending the previous December travelling across Canada with Maiden that was truly depressing Regina-Thunder Bay-London Ont... stick out as places that I'd thought were so grim the world had ended.

Quebec; we got to the Hilton after travelling all night, showered and my hair felt greasy plus the water in the sink was slightly orange, Tony Wigens (Maiden's Tour Manager) turned on the news to the story that the main sewer in the city had burst and the 'French' Canadians at the Hilton when confronted with an irate Tony simply said 'We speak French here not English' I was never so happy to get to Vancouver.

Funny looking back at the photos I can remember where they are and when I took them. The photo of Nicko in the pool in Sacramento at the Cal Expo-Steve on the phone is Tony Wigens production office. On the way there Twisted Sister's 'Security' had stopped us and told Steve and I/we weren't cleared to come back there by Twisted Sister who's ego's at that point had truly landed. The photo with the Queen Mary I like best as it's something historically British in Long Beach. Plus the album cover looks great because Rod Smallwood looked at every photo and designed it so that every fan would have a sense of being there. Of all the photos I taken this package still holds a great fondness for me.
