Have spent the last week in Detroit then Toronto with Metallica. Flew from London into Newark to connect to Detroit it was so packed with tourists I missed the connection so an afternoon in Newark then finally Detroit early and straight to the Stadium for some Metallica then on to the Metallica Jet and straight to Toronto. Except the airport was closed after midnight so we landed in Hamilton had to do immigration and customs then finally Toronto it was dawn when I got to bed… a long day.
We flew in and out of Quebec where Metallica played to 130,000 people. I took a photo from the stage and the crowd went out as far as my eye could see. Now the big surprise in Quebec was running into Steve Harris who I had not seen in over ten years, I don’t know who was more surprised me or Steve. And you know it really made my trip seeing him again.
The next day was a day off in Toronto and what did we do ? Go and see Iron Maiden . Metallica played the Rogers Stadium in Toronto, and I thought I’d climb to the very top to take a photo-it was terrifying looking down.
Flew home via Washington DC the next day and I’m sooooooo jet lagged .
