London, home after flying for a bit. I have a hatred of dark winter nights so mentally good to fly back after December 22nd the winter Solstice. The days get longer now slowly but surely . Christmas I dislike intensely I always have even as a child. I’m doing my best to ignore it .The sun setting is Bangkok on Dec 22nd the cloud sort of reminded me of the poster of Apocalypse Now. I went to watch the sunset at the Mahanakhon observation deck the huge skyscraper that looks like it’s make of giant blocks. There were signs no selfie sticks and half of it is a glass floor. I expected peace and serenity looking over this vast metropolis. What you did get was a rooftop full off Eastern Europeans and Chinese all with selfie sticks shoving and pushing while the whole of the rooftop had speakers everywhere blasting mind numbing techno music so loud you had to shout above it which of course everyone was doing while lining up for the glass bit.
The day before I was taken to Lumpini Food Market where the locals do their shopping . I think I saw one other farang apart from me. They were selling ducks - chickens - meat of every kind. Fish and live toads that they killed as you bought so they were fresh. The one thing which freaked me out and I’m fairly openminded was rats boiled and ready to eat (I hate rats and snakes), I was intrigued and slightly disgusted, after posting a photo on Facebook I got so much response ’This is disgusting’ etc etc my point was that no one would believe me. So a bit of travel photos. The sea is leaving Nagoya - The rest are Bangkok.
