Berlin, after a week of 38C weather I get to Berlin and it rains. Metallica at the Olympic Stadium packed and they played while it poured down, of course it stopped as soon as they finished the show. Metallica seemed to flourish in the rain. I went with Kirk Hammett still in his stage clothes soaking wet with his ‘Greenie’ ( Peter Green’s ) guitar and we did a photo at midnight by the Brandenburg Gate.
I also went to the Deutsche Museum which is the history of Germany. Lots of Medieval Armour how people fought in it is beyond me. I looked for the World War II bit which is tucked away on the ground floor, sort of hidden a shame it would be far more powerful and frightening if it was in a separate museum like they have in London.
