DECEMBER 04 2015

I woke up to the news about the death of Scott Weiland. Very very sad. I wouldn't say I was best friends with Scott although I did connect with him whenever I photographed him. Scott was ALWAYS late, yet he could charm you into liking him instantly plus with photos he gave me exactly what I wanted.

I have memories of him fully dressed in his kids pool-wearing two different shoes when he was three hours late for an STP shoot at the Sunset Marquis in LA, he didn't even notice he'd put them on then blamed his assistant. The rest of the band sat there and waited not saying a word, personally Iā€™d have punched him. He then ordered treble Johnny Walker Black label whiskey's and after four of them was ready to be photographed and you know what-he looked great in a fucked up way.

My favourite photo of him was one I did for Classic Rock Magazine which the Editor and Publisher hated-Scott sitting at home next to a lamp smoking - 'Not Rock N Roll Cover Material'; was their thinking. Personally I think it's one of my best photos and VERY rock n roll.

The last time I saw Scott was a year ago in Los Angeles he came in the room posed with his wife then told her I was a Great Photographer... I'll miss him,for all his demons he was a lot of fun to work with.
