Some travel as I’m flying this week. I’ve been reading Sylvain Sylvain’s rather excellent book There’s No Bones In Ice Cream. It has the worst book cover ever but Sylvain sums up early ’70’s London perfectly and his knowledge of London is impressive if you ever went to a Wimpy Bar or Kensington Market and he wasn’t sure if it was Mike Oldfield he hung out with at Kevin Ayers flat - the answer must be yes and he was the bassist in Ayers band and lived with him.
I also found some Iggy and Chissy Hynde I’d forgotten about and some photos of Oakland 1991 with Queensyche and a Metallica party with me and Slash - I don’t even remember the photo being taken on my camera plus Kim Thayil - Kirk Hammett and Rocky George with Dave Lombardo.
